Hi Gang....

Customer comes into the shop and buys a 42 month acdelco battery..... Said battery fails 1 year later, customer gets new battery and pays labor to have it installed.... one year later second battery that was installed fails ( still in the original 42 month period) it's still covered except again for the labor is that correct?? That is how we have always understood it and I have looked all over the acdelco website and this is how the warranty is stated, does not mention if more than one battery fails under the first purchase within 42 months...

WARRANTY
ACDelco Gold (Professional) 42 Month Batteries have a 42 month limited warranty period.

WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
Discharged batteries that can be recharged and returned to service.
Cost of recharging or for use of rental batteries or vehicles.
Labor cost for battery removal and installation.
Batteries damaged due to charging system failure, negligence, abuse, accident, improper installation, or freezing.
Loss of time, inconvenience, loss of vehicle use, or other incidental consequential damages.

HELP!!

Battery alone is under warranty from the first customer pay purchase. The warranty does not reset with the new warranty battery installation. But it will cover another battery. I always run batteries on the battery tester to prove the battery failed before i replace it. This will unmask any other issues on the vehicle.

That's what I have always understood it to work, however I deal with another GM dealership who sell the batteries as an acdelco distributor and they were telling me that was not the case. I couldn't understand why it wouldn't be.. I sent the second one back to them yesterday and also mentioned how it was the second time...…. I told him today if I hadn't had mentioned that how would they have known any different.

Thanks for your input

I found their exact verbaiage from the AcDelco website:

"Standard Warranty (No Charge Period)
• Should an ACDelco battery prove defective based on the ACDelco test procedures published in the 7A-100
Battery Catalog during the Standard Warranty period, the original retail user is entitled to a new ACDelco
battery of comparable performance at no charge. If an ACDelco battery is replaced under warranty at nocharge to the customer, the newly replaced battery will receive the remainder of the original warranty.
Consequently, in the event that the second battery fails, the date of sale of the original retail purchase is to be used as the beginning date when calculating months of service."
