Attention GM Dealers

In case you missed it, according to GCUS-9-13478 - GM CCAS States: Current Facilities Exceeding Standard Service Levels

The same message contains the following:

Current Status
As of 8/16/2022
Customer Lines Pending Shipment 0
Total Backorder Lines 732,709
Covered Backorder Lines 199,759
Uncovered Backorder Lines 532,950
SPAC Cases 111,810
Material Trailers at PC/RDC/PDCs 468

Assuming the total dealer count is still in the 4000 range this would mean the AVERAGE dealer is tracking

28 SPAC cases

183 Backorders

I understand the facilities are current, which is easy when you have less parts to pick and ship. But how current do you feel about your orders?

I don’t bother reading that propaganda anymore. The crossdock and referrals are still a clusterf#%. Parts from 058,075 are still scattered and hard to tell when you will receive. It doesn’t do a damn bit of good to give you an ETA when the next day they just change the ETA. I’m still receiving parts one day and parts shipped from the same facility on the same day will show up a week later. How can they get separated and who is dropping the ball. I know that big pieces like body sides and box sides will sit at the crossdock till they think they have enough room. I’ve seen my truck sometimes in the early morning hours and trust me it’s not always full. Until they give us a scanner and allow us to track things real time like an Amazon or FEDX driver have, it really doesn’t matter how good THEY THINK they are doing. We all know the first questions out of a customer’s mouth………PRICE AND AVAILABILITY. When you stumble at that question……….. well ……….

I have 18 SPAC cases pending. Was 20, but low and behold two are shipping today. I am working 57 backorders that date back to April 7th.

I'm with Chuck, although I will glance at the email so I can see how hard they're patting themselves on the back, but I don't put any stock in it.

It's so true about the Michigan warehouses being inconsistent. Order two parts from the same warehouse on the same order and they rarely ever show up together. For me, the real kick in the pants is parts that come from Memphis...order the part, it ships from Memphis, makes its way past me to the Michigan crossdock (seriously, WTF???), then when Michigan finds the time to throw it on a truck it makes its way back south to me in Cincinnati. Memphis is, on average, a 7-10 WORKING day ordeal.

Recently we have had several parts showing stock in 058 but when ordered the order goes to one of the Canada warehouses and there is no tracking information available. 058 is horrible but at least you can tell your customer GM estimates you will get it between the 24th and the 30th......today. With Canada we tell the customer the parts going thru customs and we have no idea when we will get it.
