ROOF RAIL AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT

what are you using to deploy the roof rail air bags? My service department is telling me that they don't have the deployment tools for these. We have about 50 that need to be deployed.
Also, are your techs deploying them right after removal, or are you having them turn them in, and then deploy after the claim is paid?
The way I took it, is that they are to be deployed at the time of removal and scrapped.

Our shop foreman trained our oil change guy how to set them off. So they save them for a slow afternoon and set them off

Anybody in California figure out how to dispose of them? We are not allowed to deploy them here.

You would think that GM would have a return process similar to the Takata return process for those dealers.

Torgy, there you go thinking again. LOL It amazes me as to the things they do at GM. Not sure why it amazes me, I have been in it for a long time and have seen a lot of these situations.

Junked van, 9v battery, two long wires, 4 alligator clips. That is all I can divulge.

Stop off at Jack in the Box on Sunset for some tacos, then drive along the coast tossing them out the window.
