do your body shops disassemble the Hyundai mirrors before painting them, and then reassemble, or just tape them off?

Ours disassembles them, but now they say that they won't do that any longer, because of the difficulty, and chances of breaking them.

They do a great job, but I'm not sure what to expect if they just tape them off and paint them.
