What is the proper and best way to dispose of the empty 30lb refrigerant canisters?

I use them for target practice. 500 yards and shoot the fill valve off.

same, but only @ 300 yards.

Add a small amount of gasoline, slosh it around with the valve closed. Then shoot the valve off. Makes a nice boom.
