Costco Auto Program

So i have been informed that we have signed up for the Costco Auto Program, The Program will be mainly on the sales end, however from time to time a Costco member may present a coupon for 50% off up to $200 for service, parts, and accessories if they purchase a vehicle from us through this program. Our marketing mgr stated we are not interested in this discount but they have instructed him that IF a customer does present it we need to honor it (because GM says so). Anyone else in this??

Yes, most unfortunately we are on this program. Our Sales guys have dubbed it the COST US program. If you read the rules associated with it, the dealer is responsible for honoring the discount. However, we don't get to many of these. Parts bills the part to the customer at their discount, but whatever discount amount we are giving gets billed to the New Car Sales Department advertising account.
