Hope in that someone at GM will see this .........

Customer comes to service for repair and requires a water pump for repair part number 12703898 . Service advisor sells the job and the customer proceeds to waiting room to wait for repair . about an hour later customer comes into the service office and proceed to rip into the advisor about how we are ripping them off ..... How you ask , they found the water pump on AMAZON being sold by The AC-Delco Store and The GM store for $151.50 when MSRP on it is $340.32 . Which of course next fired off into parts and service arguing as to why we cant match the pricing . GM Cost on the pump is $170.14 . When you call dealer business center , eCommerce rep , DMA , ETC...... we are told the same ol story of " Well that's amazon " and they can not comment on anything Amazon related . This wasnt the first time this had happened , we had an issue several months ago with part number 19325605 with MSRP of $249.78 dealer cost $124.89 AMAZON the ACDelco Store $76.88 !!!!!!!

STOP , enough BS with this lie already . Amazon rents the space for a company to do business , this is NOT Amazon . GM would've sued the pants on any web store using their IP , logos , documentation etc... for a store front that mimics the actual GM AC Delco website

How can any company out there keep a solid brand image while expecting their main business partners and distributors to be required to repair vehicles , sell to customers , expect to have an ecommerce store etc... all while they undercut everyone to the tune of 10-20% lower than the cost we have to buy from them at !?!?! Completely destroying the customers perception of the brand , the dealer and the store . We get the reps in here making everyone sign up for ecommerce programs then want us to price competitively against the people we have to buy our parts from !!!!

Retirement close , cant wait !!

Wow... did not realize this was going on. First part I sampled was below dealer cost. A 36 month battery (according to the label) that the Delco store has a bullet pointed 72 month warranty.

I just tell the customer Amazon sells counterfeit parts that do NOT come with a warranty.

There is no loyalty with regards to GM. Since there emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009, The General looks upon their dealer body as a PROFIT center, not partners in business.

Perfect example of this...Needed a 19352776 for my Silverado. GM cost $140.12 Amazon $107.60. Came next day from amazon. Also, it arrived in better condition than if I would have ordered it through GM Charlote.

If you are getting stuff damaged from the facility, file an RFI on it. That way they overpack it to keep it safe. You more than likely got a repurposed part and they are selling it labeled as new. That and last I checked we aren't supposed to be doing that because if the customer comes back in with issues with it, that looks bad on us and we have no way to complain to GM about it because we didn't get the part from them which means warranty or nothing is going to cover anything which means the repair is out of our pocket. So just be careful.
