Steering Wheel Retro Fit

Silverado VIN: NZ197613 Bulletin N222371151-12
Is anyone else having issues getting these 11610164 bolts out? Following bulletin protocol, two separate trucks with two different techs and both had major issues getting the bolt out.

Yes. 99% of the time. Was not an issue, now all of a sudden it is. And of course the bolts are not on RIM. It's up to whomever sells the last or when stock runs low, read the sign on the shelf "Manual order, Non-RIM".

about the same .. most of the times they come right out.. we had a tech really hammer on one to get it out and kinda collapsed the column and the steering wheel rubbed.. we had to replace the column..

crap... the column was on back order (go figure) one of the other techs put a puller on it somehow and pulled it back out until the column came in...it did not take much movement to make the wheel clear.

Thankfully, our PDC had one, it came in this morning and we're hoping to get this behind us.

we had a run of 3 or 4 that required steering columns about six months ago.

all had one thing in common, those techs did NOT read the bulletin and follow the procedure laid out by GM.
