Not really useful at all.
Hear me out, I know they are proud of it but it really does nothing.
1st - The tool is not in parts workbench at all. Its tucked away in a whole other app. For this tool to be more useful it needs to be on same screen with parts workbench where we normally track parts and get the eta.
2nd - When you use parts workbench and get an eta stating that it has shipped with an estimated delivery of ie: Aug 14th - Aug16th do we really need to know what current state it is in? Or which crossdock is holding it up. As long as it is in transit and a delivery eta, than that is all we really need to know.
3rd - It doesn't show you parts that are in transit to a distribution plant like you would think. ie: raw part shipped from source to distribution for boxing or whatever. If it hasn't shipped from a distribution plant there is a no eta. Basically if there isn't a tracking number assigned to it you can't search it.
4th - Direct ship parts are not shown in this. Nuts bolts keys windshields etc...
5th - No additional cost.
tldr: It is a redundant tool, and for some reason you need to know exactly where the part is on I-70, than what's the point. It does not tell you that its in the 4th trailer waiting to be unloaded for the last 3 days at the crossdock just that the part is sitting at the crossdock. Only thing this tool is going to do is piss you off, when its just normal business. They should have invested the money into making global connect work 24/7.
