Question on warr over counter

Question on warr over counter

Postby cain555 » Mon Dec 16, 2024 9:44 pm

Hello, if you all could let me know... if we sell lifters to a shop which carries a 24 month warranty, and we sell all the gaskets and seals needed to do the work and the lifters go bad, are those seals and gaskets (for example) covered? Or just the lifters?

Thanks in advance!

To the best of my knowledge, only the failed parts are warranty on an 'over the counter' slip. There is nothing in the Parts & Accessories Warranty Quick Reference Chart to state otherwise.

Had this same exact situation a couple years ago. Submitted ALL parts to warranty and received payment. Downside of only submitting parts is that there was no labor via that route. When approaching DMA about labor, basic answer was that the labor for the defective repairs could have also been paid if the vehicle repairs were performed in our shop on a repair order, referencing the original purchase.
