Subaru Detail Breakdown

Postby Chuck Hartle » Sat Dec 28, 2002 12:00 pm

I am interested in the detail breakdowns for Subaru parts. It seems that both ADP and ERA breakdowns for the factory master are a bit outdated.

For example, ERA detail position 1 states that the model code is used here. It could be anything from an A to a X here and that supposedly is the model year of the part;
A = 1980
X = 1999
I find this to be completely wrong.

Detail Position 7 has the numbers 1 thru 9 and both ERA and ADP have no explanation for this code. Also, detail position 8 has a number too, usually rare, but it does come into play and that to is unexplained?

The only one that seems to be accurate is the Left of D (ADP) or Detail Position 5 (ERA) that gives an alpla letter for the proper mark up percentage by Subaru. We have several dealers inquiring on this and after some review, I don't have the answer. Anyone out there in "the know" on this?

It would be appreciated!

Also.... anyone know how to decipher the DETAIL2 field on ERA of GM's movement codes?

Thanks,

Chuck Hartle'

Regarding detail2, I only know that if detail2 position 8 is an "R", the part is an RSG part. I have searched to find a pattern in different part numbers, but not successfully. Tony

GM Detail 2 breakdown:

Position Field Name Field Description

1 7 GM Master Values
AE = Demand level (A=fastest moving, E=slowest moving)
Blank = Not classified (lowest demand)

Note: If an alphacharacter appears in positions 16, it reflects the national activity level for that carline.

1 = Chevrolet
2 = Buick
3 = Oldsmobile
4 = Pontiac
5 = Cadillac
6 = GMCLight Duty
7 = Blank (previously GMCMedium duty)

Positions 1-7 represent national activity RSG information by division/carline. Positions 8-71 represent PDC specific activity RSG information by division/carline combination. Parts identified with an "R" in the appropriate division/carline combination position of the Detail2 field are required stocking parts.

For position 8, you will likely need to change a spec setup for the field to display the appropriate data for the given dealership.

The DETAIL2 field that displays only shows the first 10 positions of the DETAIL2 field. In order to display the position of the Detail2 field that represents the dealerships division/carline combination, run Part Information Format (2330) and set up the appropriate position of the DETAIL2 field (attribute 29) to display in the PART#/DESCRIPTION field. Please refer to GM RSG Detail2 Position Descriptions and Values for specific information regarding the information available in the DETAIL2 field. For example, the following setup would cause the appropriate position of the DETAIL2 field to print for a Pontiac/Oldsmobile dealer, since the 13th position of the DETAIL2 field is the Pontiac/Oldsmobile RSG indicator:

Attribute = 29
Length = 1
Justification = L
Conversion = T13, 1
