AC-Delco Battery Procedure(s)

Hello Everybody

Id like to hear how you all handle an AC-Delco battery warranty replacement, charged out on a Repair Order, when the battery is used to replace a previous battery that failed and still has warranty left. For example, if the adjustment charge to the customer is $25.00 and the cost of the battery is $65.00 how do you calculate, and what do you use as the true cost of the battery when charged on the RO and what procedure do you use to track the credit due back to you from AC-Delco? How long do you typically wait for credit to be issued? We have ADP. Thanks
MH

Both list and cost are posted at the prorated amount so your inventory is relieved the amount the delco distributer will charge you for the replacement battery. We you return the prorated battery to delco with a copy of both invoices a credit is usually given the same day. or the following day

Your Delco WD should have a list of all GM prices & prorated prices.
To get a labor claim paid under Factory warranty, there has to be an RO opened & the battery charged out at GM cost.
Ask your Delco WD for a price sheet.

It would be CP all the way, or like us you can absorb the labor internally. GM does not get involved at all.

Gerry is right, in P & P section 1.5.11.g it states that a warranty claim cannot be submitted to WINS for payment. It is handled by the Distributor, or the Dealer.

Hello Everyone

Thanks for the replies. Another part of the question would be:

If you use the cost price of the adjustment as $25 and are still "owed" $40.00 from the AC-Delco distributor for reimbursement, what mechanism do you use to track the $40.00 to ensure payment. Someone had suggested using a second RO with that $40 billed to the AC-Delco distributor who picked up the defective battery. Any other suggestions?
