Rotary Parts Bins

Curious about these type bins. I saw them in use at Sewell Cadillac in Dallas, but havn't heard much about them. I am going to be asked to give up more of my square footage again, so the Front End can have more office space. I have been out of room for a few years, and have no clue where to try to stuff any more parts. The rotary system looked like it might be a good idea for me. I have currently around 160 or so "Small" bins, 50-60 "Medium" bins, and another 40-50 Large/Bulk Bins for Crash Parts/Sheet Metal, chemicals. Losing the 160 small bins would be a huge relief, as they are the 4ft wide, 18 inch deep, 7 ft tall variety.

THESE BINS MAY HAVE IMPROVED OVER THE YEARS, BUT I WORKED AT A DEALERSHIP THAT GAVE UP ON THE MOVEABILITY FEATURE OF THESE BINS BECAUSE THE WHEELS KEPT BREAKING OFF. ANOTHER PROBLEM WAS THAT WHILE COUNTERMEN WERE TRYING TO PICK PARTS OUT FRONT, STOCK CLERKS WERE TURNING THE BINS TO PLACE STOCK PROPERLY, MAKING IT HARDER TO PICK PARTS WITH THIS SYSTEM THAN STATIONARY BINS. THE BEST THING ABOUT WORKING WITH THE BINS WAS THE HEIGHT! THEY STOOD 12 FT. HIGH AND HELD A LOT OF STOCK. WE USED LADDERS IN EACH AISLE AFTER THEY WERE MADE STATIONARY AND SEPARATED. MY ADVICE IS AVOID THE MOVING BINS. IT'S AN EXPENSIVE NOVELTY THAT WI
