GM Supplier List?

GM Supplier List?

Postby Richard » Fri Apr 06, 2001 4:39 pm

Any way to get a list of the companies that Supply Parts to GM? Reason being that we have several people (Middle TN area) that tell us they are supposed to get special pricing because they work for a GM supplier. I have no way to know if this is true or not, without a list of some sort. Anyone got any insight?

Good Luck! I have been trying to get an adress or phone number for a strut supplier for almost a year. GM is afraid you will see the price that they pay for the parts before they mark them up and sell them to us. The customer has even hired a lawyer to try and get some answers but still has not been able to.

Just like the GM "former/retired" employees that come in here barking, I would ask to see that policy in writing. I lose alot of respect for people that demand and feel they are "entitled" to a certain discount because they do/did business with GM. I explain that we are not GM, but a personally owned business. GM has programs in place for these folks, and I have yet to see someone produce any of the proper documents. We work on the phone company's trucks here, and give them a fleet discount, but I don't get a break on my bill. Same thing with the city and county fleets and my taxes.

To the best of my knowledge, GM has asked us to give GM Employees a break on parts. Suppliers get the supplier deal on vehicles only. At least, that's the way we do it.

We do data work for GM and we are listed as a GM supplier. We get a coupon to get special pricing on car purchases. I have never seen anything offering a parts discount or any other benefit other than the coupons.

A long time ago I worked for a chain of shops in the DC area that always advertized with a picture of the owner. Except they made up the name and the picture was also a fake. Customers frequently said that they were a friend of Al or played golf with him and he promised them a special discount. I always thought it was funny how many people would tell a lie just to try and get a better price.

I like the 5% off of matrix
