GMVIS- vehicle component

I was looking over the GMVIS and noticed a new link in the listings for vehicles.
Vehicle Component. This list includes info about the actual components used in the vehicle. Im wondering does anyone have a means of deciphering this code.
Below is an example from a VIS I ran.

Component Code: 10
Source Plant: L
Part/Num Broadcast: KXA Traceability: 10141860
Date Scanned: 04/20/2000 Time Scanned: 21.00.00 Scan Station: 04

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Im wondering can this be used in any way by service and parts?
