delivery driver compensation

We have been paying our drivers a small commission based on wholesale GP for several years and (for most of them) it is a good incentive. We have three stores that pool three full-time drivers so they each get an equal cut of the combined total wholesale GP. When we implemented the plan it was about $80 to $120 a month, it has worked its way up to $250-300/mo. over the years.

We have a small Toyota dealership in the southeast. Wholesale accounts for 60% of profit. Our driver helps check in the stockorder before going out on deliveries. Everybody is paid a percentage of total gross profit, csi bonus(when Toyota had csi), and Christmas bonus if we hit sales objectives.
