Recall on J Body

Recall on J Body

Postby Gerry Laughlin » Mon Mar 27, 2000 7:07 pm

We have recently started performing the ECM/Shield recall on the 95/96 J bodies. According to the recall we are supposed to return the cores immediately to the Local PDC, which is all good and well. My question pertains to the condition of the cores. Policies and Procedures states that no cores will be accepted that have "Evidence of fluid damage". The two cores that I took in today look like they have spent the last five years in someones septic tank. In all reality the reason they are being replaced is for fluid damage. Common sense says that GMSPO should take them back, but I'm not much on taking $300. gambles. What direction is everybody else taking?
Thanks

I finally heard back from the National Return Center, they said that we should go ahead and return them. Apparently they had already discussed this and said the were charging the non-rebuildable ECMs back to the divisions.
