I've been in the dealerships for 25 years.Started out as a tech now parts manager. My Dad has been in the Dealerships all his life and I can remember as a kid playing on those old hydraulic floor lifts.
I have worked for a lot of managers and I can recall the ones who helped me grow and those who just collected a check.
To get to the point, managers are coaches sometimes.I dont mean to sound corny here but its a fact.Building morale can be a challenge and the rewards are great.Somehow there is an unwritten rule for many that you've gotta rule with an iron fist. NEWS FLASH...patting emploees on the back, for a job well done won't break your arm or mean your weak or a softy, a balance between firm but fair. We get too busy crunching numbers and running reports that we forget we are in the people buisness and what makes a company great.Remember someone beleived in you, even if it was only yourself.
