Inventory Mgmt vs. Parts Mgmt

Are there any dealers who utilize and Inventory Manager and a Parts Manager. I am interested to find out where Dealers would make the division in responsibility when both positions exist.

We work with lots of parts departments and lots of them have inventory managers. In all the situations I am aware of the inventory manager always works for the parts manager. I can't conceive of splitting the jobs since good inventory management is such a critical part of overall management. A good example is do you pull a inventory person when the counter backs up?? Someone has to be in charge and make that decision.
