DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO MOVE MEMOS AROUND IN ADP OTHER THAN HAND KEYING THEM INDIVIDUALLY... I WOULD LIKE TO PT ALL THE OLD MEMO PART#'S IN ONE SOURCE... ADP WANTS THE STANDARD $120 PER HOUR

In ADP you can use the Batch Change Function only if your manufacturer offers some field on the Parts Pricing Fact Sheet that allows selection. You cannot choose "MEMO" as an On Hand, nor can you select "RB" in the PNC type field. Example: Volkswagen used a D in the ABCD field for all memo parts, so I can select that in batch change and move them. I do, however, use the Sort by part movement, function SCS, to isolate all parts that have no sales in the last year. All memo parts fall within that criteria so that may be a way to begine the separation. There may be other ways too (orhter than ADP $$) but I can't think of them at the moment.

What Manufacturer are you working with?

ADP CONFUSED,
I was going to send you a personal email, but you didn't register so I couldn't. I can help if you email me.

ADP AND MEMOS

Imacdude seems to have the best answer.
But how come you want to move those memos into different sources? Manufacturers are required by law to change a number every time a design change occurs, or a different vendor supplies a part. I don't need to tell anyone how often numbers change, and then change back. It seems like a lot of maintenance to move these parts back and forth from source to source.

Most standard ADP reports use "WITH P-U GT "0" to filter memos from the list.
Valid part numbers have a P-U = 1. Memos have no P-U.
If you are having problems with the memos appearing on RPG reports, try adding that criteria. Remember that in RPG you will have to use the # (not equal) and then press enter to say "with Price per Unit not equal to nothing."

Does this help?

If I'm not mistaking, at least if you deal with GM, if the default sourcing is used, most of the memos will usually go to source 100. You can get a print out of the default sourcing, i.e. 100,101,102,103,104,105,106,etc from ADP. If you've already created several other sources for menu items, aftermarket parts or RSG parts, I would still think that you would be able to get back to the defaults during a price tape update. You would probably have to go into field maps,I think, and tell system not to move parts in some of the sources you need to leave alone.

Anyway the memos would end up in source 100. You would still have to use the "Price Per Unit (P-U) not equal to "" " for reports in RPG in order for those numbers not to show up on reports.

Just a thought

Just an addition. In addition to regular memos, we have situations with a few of the foreign manufacturers where a single part number will multiple-supercede to several numbers. ADP has a type of fix for this situation as well. It is function SDL or setup display list. This will let you set a "List" (being the old part number) and assigning multiple parts to it. When you bill the item out in function PRO or I the list pops up with the newer part numbers on it. We use it for maintanance parts as well.
