BULK OIL INVENTORY

Well it sounds as if the guages are of no use to you. See your oil vendor about a tank conversion chart. Based on your model (single wall/double) and size tank, the chart will give you a simple mathmatical method to convert a stick (inch) measurement to gallons/quarts. Oh, you'll have to get a stick also if you do not have one. This is the only method you will be able to get an actual quantity count to transfer or compare to your inventory/delivery records.

This seems to be a common problem at all dealerships that have bulk oil tanks, why not put a digital meter on the outlet of the tank that measures whatever goes out of the tank, if you reset it to zero every time the tank is filled you know what your balance is. Meters of this type are available for less than a couple hundred dollars and are available in battery powered so there are no wiring issues.

BULK OIL INVENTORY

We are a Dodge Dealer. I just received an invoice from mopar for an oil delivery on 8-6-2002 and its 11-5-2002. What a deal, we have received twelve deliveries (600 gal.per)
with a 90 day float. We also post the delivery receipts.
As for the go to person on inventory - The Office Manager will only trust me, parts or oil.
