As of late 5/27 we got this info:

Try as hard a possible to get the specified vehicles back to the dealership and disable them until you get the generators. Also, disable your inventory vehicles too. Cadillac will pay whatever it takes to make it happen and our DSM's have given us written directions "do what it takes". They are concerned for customer safety AND satisfaction and the way WE deal with this can turn something negative into a positive consumer experience.

We did a search and found a total of 200 (including inventory) vehicles that fit the vin range but only about 20 with the <4000 miles AND a delivery date after 2/1/99. We had Enterprise stay late and we did some pickups too and have most cars back at the shop. The customers are extreamly satified at our response and are glad that someone cares about them.

We have 4 (four) generators in stock but need 200+. GMSPO did wipe the SPAC journal because they didn't want non-Cadillac dealers to hoard the supply (never happens, does it???). Also, they are slow in getting out of the factory but we're promised about 20 units next week. GMSPO cannot tell us what our pre-ship number is, but I hope its big. This is a great time to get to know your DSM's because they are your best source for info on you situation, even if they seem a little slow out of the gate.
