GlobalConnect Messages

How do I find a message when all I have is the message number? I received a FedEx envelope with a bunch of trailer wiring harnesses in it and a note that says reference message number G_0000186218 for a list of VINS involved.

In the messages area for your Department, there is a small header :Advanced Search Somewhat upper right to the list of messages, click on it.

Once in the page, you will see a place to search it from.

I tried that and, unfortunately, it didn't work.

It's a service message--NOT a parts message--heaven forbid
GM lets the parts department know about it...

Ours came with a note no give the harnesses to the sales manager. That's where they went. I searched "harness" in Messages and got this:

Yeah, I wound up finding it by searching for harness as well. If I gave them to the sales manager I knew I'd be dealing with a lot of ticked off customers over the coming months. Just got with our SM and we'll take care of it ourselves so we know it's done right.

In the XL menu bar click the "find" button (older versions in might be under "file" or "edit") to open a dialogue box, then search your BAC

ps. works with just about any windows file and webpages too
