We sold a 2014 2500 chevrolet and customer wanted an extra set of keys. Felt sure it was 15824471, but checked the catalog to be sure. Catalog listed 23223181, but shows it as not an active number. I called Partec and was told it is a good number. So I ordered it. It backordered. Made a SPAC case of it. Went ahead and cut a 15824471 and it worked. Today I needed to cut a spare key for a 2008. Salesman just sent the last 8, so I put those in to see if it was a Chevy or GMC. Only key listed is 23223181 for the 2008. No history in the catalog and Global doesn't show 15824471 changing to it.

I'm guessing the 23223181 is a number that has something to do with the ignition switch recall that is why their is no inventory available. As for the 15824471; I still stock it and already sold 6 this year. It should be good to go.

15824471 Probably had the elongated hole in the end, the new style has the tiny hole in the end for the tiny key ring.

That's from enginnering notes - nice of them to put that note in the catalog LOL

I just superceded it to 15824471 and cancelled any updates to that part # to avoid any future confusion.

BTW, it's GMC couterpart is 23223182 but has this engineering note:

"PART NUMBER 23223182. KEY ASSEMBLY. IS A GOOD AND CURRENT PART NUMBER. THERE ARE NO ALTERNATE PART NUMBERS. AND MUST BE ORDERED THROUGH PARTS WORKBENCH. AND FOR QUESTIONS ABOUT ORDERING, AVAILABILITY, OR BACKORDERS. CONTACT THE SPAC DEPARTMENT."
