Anyone see a part number for the Camaro key we need to order for the recall? Since we can't sell them until they are repaired we would like to at least get them ordered since it will take 3-4 weeks to get them according to the message.

We have a scad of vehicles on "stop sale". Can not order parts, GM can not say when we can and according to the sales manager they just got a performance review letter. Talk about "balls", I would hate to be the guy that gets their "response".

Another example of being too fat for one hand to see what the other hand is doing. Those letters should be on a "stop-sale"

I've had several customers call in to find out about the recall, and say well, take mine off the list - I will NOT be bringing it in, I like the switchblade key and won't give it up.

In preperation for ordering I had service create repair orders for all on the lot. I wanted to get all key codes ready to transmit with vins when we get a part number. Wrong. I forgot on my first try that GM block key codes from unsold units. So I have to rely on the key codes in our dms. Hopefully the were inputed correctly. And hope you don't have any dealer traded units on the lot as you probably will have to call the dealer you got it from.

The recall states we are to get the codes and submit them with the vins, in that order, and they will cut the keys. Now, for the correct part number..............Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery, at least.

You can call the DBC and have them unlock key codes. They won't tell you the code over the phone but they will unlock it so you can go back in and get it the normal way
I've had to do that a few times with unsold units that sales wants a 3rd key for and can't be bothered to give me the tag off the keys

Got this Email from the DP yesterday...
Subject: URGENT: Camaro Keys
All,
There has been a change of plans on the way we are distributing the first Camaro key blanks. Key blanks will now be overnighted to your dealership parts department. They will arrive on Wednesday (6/25). You may even receive more that the number we discussed, but no less.
You will be responsible for getting the keys cut locally. This requires a laser key cutter. If you don’t have one, seek out another dealer that does. As soon as the new key is cut, you may schedule your delivery.
Any questions, let me know.

Should be fun times . . .

Seriously? That was an official E-Mail?
Translation as I read it. "Hey dealers....ya we know, our bad, but here are some keys, good luck. Hope it works out for you. Peace!"
Wow. I feel for you guys.

Is there a part number to use for a transmitter yet? I thought the jist of it was they were seperating the flip keys into 2 pieces.
