Speed is considered BroadBand

What Internet Speed is considered BroadBand? I found that some provider say 128Kbps as a broadBand service so how can one define broadband.

Speed and broadband are two different things. The term broadband refers to the wide bandwidth characteristics of a transmission medium and its ability to transport multiple signals and traffic types simultaneously. Unless you're using old telephone dial-up modems virtually everything is broadband now.

Well I guess I am really NOT a techie. I always thought "broadband" was a bunch of chicks playing tubas!!

The FCC defines "Broadband Internet" as 4 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. Here is an article about it.
