Recall Numbers

Anyone else notice the huge jump in recall numbers? In another post someone mentions recall 14497. Some of the mystery key recalls are numbered something like 14299 and 14351 if I remember correctly. If GM is numbering recalls sequentially we are all just getting started with this mess. As you know the seat belt deal on Acadia/Traverse/ Enclave is 14187. Are there really 300+ more coming? OR is there something to these numbers that mean something else?

I think the recall number is the file/case number of the NHTSB or similar... ??
