RIM returns & WRONG DISCOUNT

Check your credit invoices for RIM returns generated in August 2014. The RIM discount changed from 2% to 1% effective April 1, 2013. August represents the first month that RIM returns should only deduct a 1% discount - no longer should they deduct a 2% discount.

As you know RIM returns look for 15+ months MNS. So RIM returns generated in August should contain the first parts ordered under the new 1% discount.

THIS IS NOT HAPPENING.

Our parts manager, smart guy, caught that each and every part had a 2% discount deducted. THIS IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE 2% HOLD PREMIUM. That is something entirely different and separate. So far RIM, Invoicing and DMA unaware of this issue.

I had a very interesting conversation with a GM employee earlier today about this. It seems that this very subject may have been discussed by management at some time in the past. If this person remembers correctly there may have been a decision to leave the system programmed this way. This person was not sure and told me they would contact me if changes were to be made.

I want to know how many other Dealer's August generated RIM returns had 2% deducted.

I truly do not believe the word "integrity" belongs in a comment about GM.

Great catch. I'll have to go over my RIM Return Credits with a fine tooth comb when I receive them to reconcile. Thanks. I'll let you know.

I got one back today for a field scrap (August RIM return) and it had the 2% deducted.

I was having a flashback from last year when they were worried about dealership employees compromising records to GM about parts sold for the "LOYALTY" grade.

However loyalty and GM do not belong is the same response in my opionion.

Loyalty meant nothing when they were winding down dealers a few years back.

I do agree with your response however, integrity when out the door a long time ago with them.

You guys have a good weekend !

I checked my RIM return and the few numbers I did check were purchased in March, 2013. The magic didn;t happen until April, so I am not sure you can win this battle. That Great GM Feeling Gotta Love It.
