AUTO/MATE VS RIM

Automate GM dealers: In the past we would put parts on a PENDING slip until the parts were sold, then RIM would re-order to fill the inventory.

NOW: if we put a part on a PENDING invoice, RIM is looking at the AVAILIBLITY count & not the ON HAND count, & ordering in the part(s).

When did this change? We found this error because 2 customers cancelled the parts and now we have 2 in stock & our RIM level is 1.

Anything I can change in the system to stop this from happening?

I tried the "pending" deal right at first when I went on Auto Hate then dropped it. Makes for more work but when ever something is asked for the guys have to go to the shelf and verify OH qty. Had a BIG fight with RIM over that. Even if you sell the extra part you have the RIM one is NOT protected.
" IF RIM sent it to you, RIM will take it back, 100%"..................... 100% BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!

I much prefer RIM reordering them as soon as they're on an invoice (pending or otherwise).

What if the guy doesn't come back for a week to pick the part you had and the one that was special ordered. I don't want to be "out of stock" for a week just because the guy hasn't shown up yet. Cancellations are just a part of doing business as far as I'm concerned.

The benefits far out weigh the bad side in my opinion

I reality you are probably right Zepp. Either way you are NOT going to be protected by RIM on the second one. So you may as well keep the paperwork in line.
