What is the best way to set up Perpetual or cycle counts in Reynolds Ignite? I assume there is a a canned report or something to do this.

Any help would be great.

A perpetual inventory is usually conducted the same as an annual just with smaller inventory pads. The dealer can run an annual inventory pad selecting certain sources or bins or they can have the system generate a list off of the inventory Types below. This is under Tools – Physical Inventory in ERA-IGNITE.

If you shoot me your e-mail address I can have one of our inventory experts contact you!

Try this method: Since 80% of your most active parts (run a piece sales ranking report with the past 12 months demand) then counting 200-300 of the most active numbers will spot more descrepancies than trying to count the whole inventory several times a year.

Go to the report generator and order a list that has the following criteria:
1. all parts with 2 or more on-hand
2. all parts with last 12 months sales greater than 9 (10 or more)
3. sort the list by bin location

count these monthly and you will have a very good and supportable program; this is the verification of the on-hand count integrity. You also have to run an accounting reconcilliation; one of the best procedures was started by Sandy Jerome; you can download the forms and the method from www.partsconsulting.com; go to the downloads and download the reconciliation form and the how to do the reconciliation. It is not copyrighted and open for everyone; your download and/or inquiry is never stored for marketing purposes.
