Just got a request from WPC. They want 5 quarts of 19293024 back from a vehicle that had 2000 miles and needed a new tranny pan. Can you imagine the look on the techs face when I tell him I need him to recover the fluid from his oil dispenser. Should I tell him to let it soak into a pig mat!!!? Anyone ever have this happen before? First for me...

You know I have the answer for this. Probably better not post it, but the items you need are across the street at the Walgreens. When they open the RO to collect the .3 for shipping just put them under Dealer Net Material.

I would call WPC 1-248-371-9901 & 9902 advise them the issue, just for CYA, and then submit your waiver....

I once had a request from the WPC for a small trim part where the the complaint line read...."part missing". I think sometimes the triggers are new models or under a certain mileage scenarios. Clearly the complaint line was not read.

After my PM days, I spent some time working for an OE. Not GM but another brand. Parts are called back for quality controls purposes (failure analysis). Or in the case or recalls to make sure the defective items are accounted for and destroyed. Or if a dealer is suspected of kinking the system. But for audit purposes, items may be computer selected at random; i.e. every 450th part submitted. Thats typically how stupid stuff like this gets requested. Nobody is sitting in the HQ going, "Ha ha let's see if he kept the tranny fluid."
