What do you do with opened body shop returns? Do you tell the body shop you opened them, they are yours to keep?
It isn't the easiest to send parts back, I have no problem returning parts as long as they are not opened. Our one and only body shop were used to returning everything they could because the last parts manager would just credit them and stack these parts up in the back of our warehouse to collect dust. (Still trying to clean out OLD parts)

Open Electrical including lamps belong to the bodyshop.(Depending if it was their error or yours, manager discretion) (I also suggest letting them send one of their employees to pick the parts up to avoid being blamed for damaged in route back to their facility. (CYA!!)
This also softens the blow to your bottom line and on time deliveries of new parts to other wholesale accounts.
OPEN and NOT OPENED-- NON Electrical stocking items. 35% restocking fee. Reason--- If you stock one and they return one you have two and rim will only protect one. Return the opened one to rim and mark the repack section on the MR tag. The 35% will cover this fee. And the one remaining is now unopened and yours to keep.
OPENED OR NOT OPENED NON Electrical NON Stocking items 0-89 days 35% restock plus freight and repack. Past 90 Days 50% restocking fee. Past 180 It belongs to them. ( ALWAYS INSPECT ALL SHEET METAL BEFORE DELIVERY TO THE BODY SHOP!!!!!!!!) With this policy in place if a piece is returned damaged they own it. I have see how the carless detail kid handles these pieces and I must say they are typicaly a bread goes below the milk type of kids. LOTS OF DAMAGE!!
