We have a 98 Regal in here today for a recall that was to add an insert to the owners manual about aiming the headlights -the recall is 99093 - document id is 737911

apparently these were sent right to the customer but dealers were also sent a bunch of them and it says to just photocopy them if you run out.

we weren't a dealer back then so never got any and partech has no idea how to get any either

Would any one here still happen to have a copy they could fax me of the insert we're supposed to give to the customer for the manual he doesn't even have any more? LOL

thanks for any help

You might try to contact the company that you would order owners manuals from. They may have it somewhere. I would assume that if someone bought one now it would be required to have the current info in it.

Yeah, I thought about that too Steve but with this being a recall, I know GM wouldn't buy the guy a new manual for a 16 year old car. There's nothing to charge out anyway for the recall. This is just a sheet of paper that someone I hope can just fax over so we can stick it in his glovebox.

thanks - I'll try that as a last resort if they want to persue it any further.

LOL and the phone # on the bulletin now goes to a Campbell's Soup dependent eligibility hotline

Head over to a church on sunday morning, catch some sweet little elderly lady getting out of her Regal and ask her if you can borrow her owners manual for an hour while she is in church, then take it to the dealership and make a copy for your use. Give her a free car wash at the store for her trouble, if there is a will there is a way, as Mr V (retired Buick dealer) used to tell me.

the new GM way to handle this is to tell the customer to only drive in daylight thus no need for aligned headlights, as,, AFTER ALL this vehicle was built by the OLD GM, and we now have no current liability :D

When better cars are built, BUICK will build them...............

I would suppose if GM couln't supply the parts for a safety recall then they would half to buy the car back for fair market value. So what is an old Regal worth. $500?

Attach a copy to the recall. HHHMMMM That would make too much sense.

I have my recalls in binders back to 1984. However, for one reason or another I don't have 99093. My 1999 book ends at 99091. It's probably because I didn't keep recalls that didn't have any parts listed or required.
