Minor RIM rant - 23234399 & 23237270

These 2 ignition locks (23234399 & 23237270) showed in my RIM proposals today.
RIM is wanting to stock 22 of the 4399 and 21 of the 7270. I thought that sounded a little strong so I tried to change them to 6 each and get this message: "Proposed quantity is too low, min is 11." So I'm like, ok, RIM, have it your way. I change the proposal to 11, check the box next to "Include in Stocking Policy", and hit update.
The next thing I see is "Update - Part not eligible for RIM management."
Really, GM? Really??

I laughed at the 6 numbers they wanted to add this morning. Even had they guys on the counter gather 'round to have a good chuckle. These people really have no clue what goes on in the real world. First off, RIM is or is not managing RECALL parts? Second, who would base the stocking criteria on quantities that are abnormally inflated (recall is just about completed, dummies). Third, are they just sitting on excess stock and want to pawn it off on the dealers? That just creates false demand and then they produce more.

The whole program is a circus in the first place and SLP is the dog and pony show.
Be sure to let me know when you have .06893 customers standing in front of you.
Outside of computers these people do not know their ass from a hole in the ground!!!!
And if they think the computer is the be all end all perhaps they should give Sony a call.

One of the things that drives me crazy is the fact that at times they preship campaign parts to us and then other times we are in the dark until we see it on the news or a customer walks in. Whatever happened to Recall parts not being included in RIM anyway, must have missed that change in the program.
