GM Oil Program Info.

Just wondering if any of you GM Dealers are not on the GM Oil Program and how it is working out for you. Our Gen. Mgr. is thinking about going off the program, but I don;t think it would be a wise decision. I want to get all my facts together to present to him, so any input would be helpful.

Do you have bulk tanks?
Do you receive an SLP discount on your GM purchases at the end of the month?
How much will it lower your SLP percentage and or discount for parts loyalty?
I am on the program; I added two bulk tanks for Dexos and Mobil1 at the beginning of this year.
They will be paid for early next year and then become two cash cows.

I stayed off the program for several years due to a contract with chevron. Most important is how your "sales loyalty" looks. Oil can consume up to or above 5% so depending on your sales you could easily loose any gains you make. It's all in crunching the numbers. Thats all GM knows anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that oil purchases are the only source of advertising allowance at this point.
