Well, we complained enough that GM finally took a half-step forward and flat priced about 28 of the fastest moving gas engine oil filters as of 1/1/15. I still want a total flat pricing system on ALL GM filters. Also, several filters aren't on the fleet pack program at all - PF64 and 68 being the most noticable to me.

Looks like I might start selling the non-durapack filters for all warranty maintenance.

That's just exactly what I have been trying to do for some time now.

Not if you permanently exclude them.

Nothing wrong with that.
We just went to full retail for warranty parts. I can make over an extra dollar per oil change by using a non durapack filter.
It should offset the couple thousand dollar loss I'll take from GM cancelling the durapack discount.

It doesn't matter what your warranty parts markup percentage is or your labor rate. GM pays the same amount to all dealers for warranty oil changes, parts and labor. Your warranty clerk or accounting office is writing off the difference, usually to advertising or other expense account. I got it split up in our store to all depts. You wind up losing either way. They figured it on durapack and GM branded bulk oil plus a flat amount for labor based on "industry standards", I think I read it on the DFOAB or some FAQ on a GlobalConnect bulletin.
