Factory core credits

Ok so this my might sound dumb to some people but like I posted last week this is my first week as parts manager at my dealership so help a guy out!! I have no other help currently but this forum! So anyway Today I received some factory credits for a couple high dollar cores 2 hybrid battery's and a tranny core, also a factory credit for a small obsolecence return so my question is do you guys normally credit all this to the parts account mine is (22410) or to a discount account (26799) I was able to look at some accounting had from the old manager and previous months and he was crediting stuff all over the place I was just confused. So I need help you guys with exprience where do you post stuff like this and why? HELP PLEASE!

You need to find out if you have a separate core account, if you do then all core credits go to that account. If not then the credit goes to your parts account. All other parts returns will go to your parts account as well. When you first paid for these items the amounts went to these accounts so the only way to relieve the accounts is to put the credits where the original debits went to.
