Just curious how everyone is set up for employee parts purchases? Do you sell at cost or a certain percentage over? Any recommendations on making a change to the policy? Thanks!

We are ( and have been forever ) COST + 10%

Cost plus 15% here.

Cost plus 10% for cash or payroll deduct, cost plus 15% if credit/debit card.

Cost plus 20% here

For employees personal vehicles we do cost + 10%. For side jobs usually List - 30% or Trade depending on the employee lol. After all they are taking work away from the shop...

cost +10% for everything but tires which are cost + 5% to be competitive. people can buy tires @ Tire Rack cheap so I'd rather they go thru us. We do not allow "cash" tickets from vendors. Anyone using our benefits from our vendors are entitled to but still pay cost + 10% and get charged tax accordingly. Too many issues with accounting have occurred when returns are written up on cash tickets, plus warrantied items are easier to track. Tires are only sold on ROs for this reason as well, since the VIN, DOT, and mileage are needed for any and all claims.

Ours pay cost + 10% on parts, $5 each over on tires, get their discounts where they can, otherwise.

All parts employee , dealership management and shop foreman are cost, everyone else is cost + 10.
