Question for GM dealers. Do we still have the option to return CSO parts with no return fee for parts not needed due to car being crashed or sold. I can not find anything searching policy & procedures, spoke to another GM Mananger and he thought they took it away from us.

on a cso return you are charged 35 % to return the part or parts. if you use return reserve you are charged 2%

what we also do is charge the 35% to the department if they were at fault. for instance if body shop ordered part and car totaled charge to 67E.
if service ordered part and did not need charge 35% to 67d. etc.

Is it one part or an entire order?
My rep one time (when I had a decent one) did a special return for me after an insurance company totalled a car after all the parts were ordered. They still charged me the RIM discount at the time even though everything was originally CSOd. That set off a whole different chain of events but it was still better than sucking up the 35% or keeping it all.

It is 1 item at this point, but I was also trying to find out if they did away with the CSO customer return that we had at 1 time.

I do a code 01 return every month for customer returns, mistakes and no-shows. It comes out of our return reserve and gets assessed the DRO discount adjustment plus 3% for shipping.

I think it is on page 48-50 of policy manual on what can and can't be returned on this type.
