how do ya'll bill out parts for bump the competition on an R/O for an in house body shop? Just leave cost alone and adjust the sale price? then submit the claim and code it when it comes through? it sounds like it will be a pain to use with our in house body shop.

Most of the time we are making the 14% allowed so you can not submit anything. That is what I have found to be the case.

I lower the cost and then put the sale price to match aftermarket. Have not had any issues tha I am aware of, I do not submit for payment (parts manager does)

I sell at a loss and when the BTC money comes in it goes against wholesale cost of sale.
This way i still show that gross on my wholesale line where it belongs.

We adjust the cost and sell it at the aftermarket MSRP, but when you put in the claim put in the lowest selling price for the calculator. Then when we get reimbursed we put the credit notes to 242 to off set changing the cost.

I leave the cost alone. I sell the item for less than cost. When the credit comes through I put the difference of the cost back into 242 and the 14% into 687. I try not to mess with cost. After all cost is cost...

Don't change cost. You get reconciled on your invoice after the claim is submitted. The $ you get credited on your invoice goes to 68700 to offset the lost of profit on the initial transaction.

Wouldn't you want the reimbursement to go to Wholesale Parts sales 483 so Parts can get credit for the total sale?? Your cost on said part hasn't changed, only the selling price. Therefore credit the sale account, right?
Sales at a loss are never corrected by adjusting the credit to cost (242), cost of sale (683) or purchase allowances (687) and nobody makes any commission $.

Unless you actually sell the part below cost I would not credit 24200. If anything credit 24200 to equal the actual cost of the part.
I just credit the whole claim to 68700 so it goes directly to profit.
In the end the loss you take on the original transaction is going against your profit margin...
