Colorado parts catalog

OK, so why is it when you look up bed parts for a Colorado they are no longer in group 17. In fact they have elimanated groups 16 and 17, everything is set up like a car. In fact when you call ParTech you have to select the car prompt for Colorado parts. Last time I looked at a new Colorado it looked like a truck to me.

LOL - I hadn't noticed that yet

I've never quite understood why they did cars and trucks differently anyway as far as the catalog goes.

10.485 should take you to a remote no matter what vehicle it is...

I agree Zep, when I got into this GM business I didn't understand but accepted it. Figured it was because a cab and bed didn't have a whole lot of interior parts like a passenger car did.
But it makes more sense now to have the additional groups because these limousines we use to call "pick-ups" and "Carry-Alls" are now more complex than cars! They just need to convert the old catalogs cause us old timers will never figure it out. Partech truck will politely tell you that you chose the wrong prompt on a Canyon/Colorado.

I did not see the memo, either! I called Partech a couple weeks ago, and was told to ask for the car group next time I called for Colorado/Canyon questions. Equinox are still trucks, right? That may only be in the catalog, now that i think of it, Partech may have them as cars as well. :?:

Here is a wild idea. Why not just have PARTECH? Why have car and truck versions? Do you have parts people that only do trucks and not cars - no you don't. Dealership parts people generally do a little bit of everything. Why don't we expect this from our support?

You could say it allows PARTECH to specialize - OK I will buy that. Except they don't have to receive freight and put away orders. They don't take inventory. Think of the dozens of things they don't do that we do. Cutting down to just cars and trucks would make most of us experts.

YES or NO?

Colorado/Canyon for 2015 were switched to car grouping. There was a message somewhere, can't remember where though, that mentioned it.
