Hello!

Just joined up on the forums, been a long time reader. Little bit about myself!

I am currently Parts Manager at a small town Chevrolet dealership in Western NY, about 20 minutes east of Rochester. We are a two store company (Chevy and then a Chevy/Buick), which have been in business for seven (Chevy) and thirteen (Chevy/Buick) years, respectively. I started out as a GM ASEP student at MCC in 2009, and got my sponsorship credit from the dealer I currently am at. Graduated June 2011, was hired full time as a lube tech, was transferred over to parts just a few months after graduating. While working as a Parts Consultant, I worked with two different managers (they had a bad record with them, and it showed) and April of 2013 I took over as manager. I must say, I have learned a lot, and am 100% sure there is always something new to learn each day (usually is haha).

Anyway, I am glad to be aboard the site, and look forward to chatting with the community here!

Very true. You can tell which department has the most b.s by the amount of topics/posts on the way in to the parts discussions.

We;lcome; you will find many who are willing to assist you with the challenges you run into in the parts department; whether it be factory relations or the DMS systems; collectively, the active and serious participants of this forum know much more than any single individual in the marketplace. learn from them and share your views and experiences as well.
