WRONG KEY CODES

Cusromer request extra key, looked up invoice gave me the key code, customer has tags of keys has same code. Ordered precut GM cancelled stated invalid code. Doulbe checked everything and the code I have is as stated. Call GM help desk they tell me there is nothing they can do and we should replace the lock cylinder??? Hoe in the hell does that get me a spare key. Any ideas on how to help this customer.

Try contacting your dealer business center, they have helped us in the past when we had issues with known good key codes.

We had this happen once and a local locksmith copied the original to a blank key I got from GM. This is assuming the customer has a working key and just needed a spare.

I have spent 10 minutes on the phone and they tell me to call Global Connect help desk and they already said there is nothing they can do.

CODE ON INVOICE IS "V5276"

When you ran their VIN in GlobalConnect key code area, did it show the same code?

Yes everywhere that I have access to, GM key codes, the invoice and even global help desk all say the same thing.

I can bring it up on my machine and take a pic of how its supposed to be cut. Not sure how to get the picture to you though.. Just to make sure that GM cut it correctly..

I have had a key cut by GM which was wrong on their end . I had to do an RFI and with same vin and key code and got the correct key the second time.
