I was wondering if there is anyone who could help me build a report in ADP to list my inventory not protected by RIM? I have spoke with several GM RIM experts
who told me that the GM report within RIM titled view GM RIM PROTECTION KPI is GM's list but they would not considered it to be a completely valid report. They went on to tell me to contact ADP and they could assist in building the report. I spoke with ADP parts group. They told me that they did not know how GM determines a part
number is RIM protected, but if I could tell ADP what qualifiers that are linked to the GM part number they could build such a report? Does anyone know what GM is using ( like ABC) or maybe strata code linked to these RIM part numbers? Seams like a simple request to report all the part numbers in a inventory that GM has excluded.

Go into RPG (Report Generator) and set up a report to report parts with an OH Greater than or equal to 1 with a SC(State Code) equal to 09.

This will pinpoint most of the items that are not RIM protected.
Some numbers that are SC 02, SC 04 and SC 05 will sometimes fall into the unprotected category for various reasons and can be identified by the KPI Report.
SC 01 will include accessories, tires and Non-RIM managed parts.

To determine these parts directly on your DMS, running State Code reports are helpful.

If you send the RIM KPI Report from the RIM Menu, you will receive an Excel formatted spreadsheet with a sheet listing the Unprotected Parts that can be turned into a Pivot Table that makes sorting easier.
The disappointing part about the RIM generated report is that Part Group and Description are not on the report, just part number info etc.

I'm having to go touch my inventory. Too many parts are still here way past the 18th month. I have moved them to a separate stocking group until I can get RIM to approve a return. So far they are only approving about 1/2 of my submissions.....it sucks!!

I use function GMSC, search for state code 01. That will give you all of your non-RIM protected part numbers.

Where do you do that at?

Enter GMSC into your launch function tab, press 1 for terminal reporting, 1 for "single state code", "01" for your state code, select 3 for sorting by bin. That way you can isolate only the parts you have assigned a bin location in your system because every part number in your system that RIM doesn't cover, stocking or not, will show up.

Check with ADP/CDK, at least someone at the Plaza group that knows their owns system. See if the fields called ABCD might have the information you need. I am not sure if it does, but I am sure that fewer and fewer of those who 'service' you and your system really know the capacity of the system they sold you.

Not necessarily all SC 01 parts are 'Unprotected'.
Some of the part numbers may have been RIM managed and were SC 02 parts that were later removed from RIM Management.
Those particular numbers, which were ordered by RIM, would remain protected until the 15 MNS criteria were met.

You would be surprised at how LITTLE the help desk can actually help. I have one rep that I have repeated told to pass my tickets on to ANY other rep, because I'm not real sure he knows how to plug a PC into the wall. ADP/CDK Drive + just sucks.
