I thought the valve cover recall was going great at first. There was stock at my facing PDC and I ordered some to get me started. I wasn't greedy and order 800 covers and gaskets at one time. Then the PDC dried up and they were coming where most recalls come from now. Lansing, Pontiac, you pick your depot in Michigan. To my surprise Monday my PDC had stock again on the covers but sadly the gaskets went on back order. Now we are again having to spac recall parts. Maybe I'm making this to simple but if you need two parts (depending on engine) to complete a recall don't you think you would have equal amounts of both friggin parts!!!!! I someday would like to meet the buyers and the logistic people at GM's S#%T show. Buy the way I looked this morning and my facing PDC is out of covers again. The cluster continues and I will have to CSO more covers only to have GM change the qty to 1 because I shouldn't be to greedy you know. Let's hope they don't have us OVN them.

ps I'm waiting for my DM to tell that my CSO to DRO ratio is to high. No kidding you...............

What would make the MOST sense is a kit with ALL the needed parts in it......

YUP......... I JUST ORDERED 10 12590366 COVERS AND GM KNOWS BEST THEY CHANGED MY QTY DOWN TO ONE. NOW I HAVE TO PUT IN 10 SEPERATE LINES ON AN ORDER JUST TO GET 10 COVERS.ONLY 10 COVERS......... DOESN'T MUCH MATTER BECAUSE THE GASKETS WENT TO 088 BO AND I'M SURE THEY WILL BE SHIPPED CROSS DOCK AND TAKE AROUND 5 DAYS TO GET HERE IF I'M LUCKY. ANOTHER RECALL WE WILL BE DEALING WITH FOR MONTHS WHILE THE PARTS TRICKLE OUT. WHAT A BUNCH OF NIT WITS

I am not going to hurry-up this one. These cars have been out there 12-19 Years already. If they want em fixed,get us some parts.

Haven't they known for a while now they would have to recall these cars? Couldn't someone have guessed they would need a sh*t pot of these and stocked up? They must use RIM to stock the PDC's and parts plants.

Now that is funny! It sure as heck seems like it.

GM's typical lack of planning and ordering shenanigans are to be expected. I too ordered 10 covers and gaskets in preparation, and we took in 15 cars yesterday. Our BDC made appointments for another 15 without even checking with Parts. I put a stop to that right quick, and now they have to set these folks up with a customer number, phone info, e-mail, VIN etc before we SPAC case an order in. We ordered another 13 sets today, and the covers are all upgrading to OVN cause they're SLP, but the VC gaskets will be trickling in from SPAC cases. 11 covers came in today from 058, each on a separate shipment, packing slip, fedex tracking, etc. GM just ate another $12.00 in free shipping to every one of those, and the other 13 coming tomorrow will be the same mess !

BUT what's most unbelievable to me: The absolute anger that these customers are showing because we have to order the parts for them. They just show up on the service drive with some ragged-out 250,000 mile W-car with the windows taped up, check engine light on, questionable stains on the driver's cushion, wheels painted green(!) and give us friggin lip about how sorry we are because we don't have the parts.

And these cars have been on the road how long? I don't think an extra week or two is going to cause a life or death situation.

I've said it in another thread, but I wonder why they're only recalling W body cars.... C and H bodies have the same engines in them.....
