Just say no to Safety-Kleen

We recently purchased a parts washer from safety kleen, & have been scammed & lied to from day one. We have been pondering the thought to get a new machine. We have a Renegade parts washer and it does well but there is only so much you can do with soap and water, so decided to check with Safety-Kleen. Well their rep came by and we agreed on a machine. Well it was getting close to the end of the year and asked him if we could start getting billed in Jan'06, he said no problem, and natural I asked was that your final price, he said let me double check with my boss, well he called and said he would knock off $500, & I thanked him. He came by with the paper work, & I went through it with him, & he claims there is a $200.00 set up fee(That was not told to us), & that when he told me first it would $42.00 every 16 weeks for service & fees, he claims they are changing to $42.00 every 12 weeks in 2006. If you do the math-there is your $500.00 discount he gave. I argued with him, & he claims he would have to check with boss-later that day, after he left, the parts washer shows up, & low and bold we get a used machine. I mean they could have at least threw some paint on it & knocked the rust off. I called the rep back, he shows back up here and argues with me that it is a new machine, then he starts claiming that he never told me he would sell me a new machine. I finally told him, either send me a new machine, & wave that 200.00 set up fee, & charge me 42.00 every 16 weeks or come get it out of my shop. That was 2 weeks ago, & I have heard nothing, but I did get a bill.(That won't be paid) The nerve.

I can't ever make a blanket statement on an entire company, because I know many managers who love SafetyKleen. So I would account your experience has everything to do with your rep than anything else.

But by all means, if it were me I would call and say that if it isn't removed by a certain time (a week or two), I am going to set it out back and consider it abandoned.

Just say no to Safety-Kleen

I know the feeling, I have been taken over the coals so many times by Safety-Kleen that my greatest peasure is when I bought a soap and water machine which takes a little longer to clean parts, but is well worth the overcharges and lies by the every day rotation of employees at Safety-Kleen. That is thier normal pratice to say they will come on a 12 week schedule and then it becomes a 10 week schedule and then a 8 week schedule. In all my years (to many) they have never changed their way of doing business. I have spoken to a lot of managers over the years who tell me the same story. I am sure that those who are happy are either very lucky or are not looking at the invoices from Safety-Kleen

There are Service Managers happy with Saftey-Kleen? Really?

And who can tell me more about "soap and water" machines? We were about to buy our own parts washer, mineral spirits from Lowes, and dump it in our waste oil when dirty - which is ok with our waste oil vendor.
