GM part scrapping tag

Postby robc » Fri Jun 04, 1999 1:59 pm

I haven't actually seen/used these so maybe one of you can help! I understand that there was an updated scrapping tag released last year. The biggest advantage of the tag is it has blank lines to enter in WPC requests and shipments. I believe they are form number WPC0006 but I am unsure ... has anyone ordered/used these tags for part retention?

WPC0006 is the right form number, from dealer support and materials, you can order two at a time. The techs have complained that they have no space to write what's wrong with the part, but they have a decent amount of space on the back.. They do make it easier to return parts- They can be shipped with the request, RO, and vin right on front.

I have been using these tags for some time. They seem to be just as effective as the others. I have given some to all the tech's and have had no complaints, even though they still do not put all the info on them like you would like. Also kind of confusing to our tech's is that we are still on six digit RO #'s and the new tag allows for seven digits. But it does allow for vin #'s which some use and is very helpful especially when they happen to mark the wrong RO # (but if they can't get 6 digits right who thinks thier going to get 17??)
