Has anyone developed a good stand alone excel appointment schedule. Recently took over Fixed Operations of a dealership and am looking to improve existing schedule. We have ADP DMS however until I can convince DP to purchase add on need to make do.

I have one I wrote a few years back, but it is in MS Access, so you have to install the runtimes, but we have used it for years without a glitch. We are also ADP and our people just did not like the ADP appointment system. If you would like to take a look send me an email.

dka,
I just said to email me, but for some reason it does not show in my profile, even though it is set to. You have my webpage, just call the dealership and ask for me.

Just a note of explaination- we have suppressed all e-mail addresses from the profiles to protect members from those who would farm these profiles for spam e-mail lists.

You are free to add them to your posts if you desire, but we suggest that you do so in only limited situations. Attacks from the underside of the Internet on these and other forums have intensified in recent months.

That darn underside is always trying to get us guys that are on the side of goodness and right. Anyway I kind of figured that, that is why I did not put my email address in my post, I would end up spending every morning deleting more spam than I already get. By the way my comment was not meant in any way as a slam against the ADP appointment system, I know that a lot of dealers use it quite succesfully, our SM just didn't like it.

Before you go 3rd party, have you used the new appointment calendar in web2006?

Dale,
The store I am at does not have websuite, if we did I am sure we would use appointments in that enviroment, it is a lot more "visual" which is what the Service Manager wanted. The store I just left used the websuite appointments quite well.

We use MS Outlook calendars for a number of years. It has to be on a server so all can access it. We have a calendar for each tech. It has worked great for us. (Jaz, I understand that Websuite looks alot like what we do already)

I see that you may not be ready to purchase an outside scheduling software, but i have a way to kill two birds with one stone and be able to provide your customers the ability to make online appointments, which will reduce inbound calls a tremendous amount. We used it until we got websuite2006, wish we still had it though. contact me and i can get you in touch with the company.
