into the tire business

We currently do not mount tires at the dealership. We sell some tires, but have to send out for mounting(what a pain). I know we can make more $$$ doing it all here. Would like some input on what brand/type of tire machine would be a good choice. Yes, cost is a factor.

We were doing the same exact thing....letting the wholesale tire shop, which was only a block away, do all our mounting for us, plus we would purchase most of our tires from them. Seemed to be working pretty good, b/c we did not want to purchase a machine. We broke down and finally bought a Hunter machine through a GMAC promo, and got 3 years NO interest on it. And we have had it a month and a half and our tire sells have doubled since. I think my service advisors are a lot more confident now that we can do it on site, so therefore they are selling a heck of a lot more tires....wished we had purchased it a long time ago. But we bought a Hunter TC3250, Tulip style mounting machine & it was around 6200-6400.00, and my guys love it.

If you are a GM dealer I would suggest IDL course PPS04.02D Tires as a Business Opportunity (formerly "GM Goodwrench Tire Marketing")
