I have been using a commission detail dept for serveral years. I use a "Detail Menu" for retail, new & used. The detail techs are on a flat rate setup, with each detail set up with a flat rate time on the details. Easy to track, pay and monitor. The Detail Techs can make good money if you have the work from sales and can increase your profits thru the service & body details. The only draw-back is if you run out of work for the detailers. Generally my group has the work, I stagger their work hours & days to meet any sales needs, and get quick results because of the commission. This allows them to make real good money each week.
